Position Purpose

Leads full-cycle talent acquisition for assigned business areas, partnering with hiring leaders and the HR team to define hiring strategies, attract high-quality talent, assess candidate fit, and deliver a professional candidate experience. This role owns requisition execution from intake through offer and uses market insight, sourcing expertise, and sound judgment to support strong hiring decisions aligned with Bassett Mechanical’s workforce needs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Candidate Management
    • Lead full-cycle recruiting for skilled trades, professional, and other assigned positions.
    • Review applications, screen candidates, and conduct initial interviews.
    • Facilitate intake meetings, align on selection criteria, coordinate interview plans, and provide timely hiring updates to hiring managers.
    • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
    • Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media, trade networks, community partnerships, and direct outreach.
  • Recruiting Operations & Compliance
    • Develop and manage compelling job postings and external recruiting channels.
    • Ensure candidate records, communications, and statuses are accurately maintained.
    • Coordinate offer letters, background checks, drug screens, and pre-employment requirements.
    • Analyze recruiting activity, pipeline health, and hiring metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
    • Ensure recruiting practices, documentation, and candidate records meet compliance and record-keeping requirements.
  • Candidate Experience & Onboarding
    • Serve as a point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process.
    • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience that reflects Bassett Mechanical's values.
    • Partner with HR and business leaders to ensure a smooth handoff from accepted offer through onboarding readiness.
  • Employer Branding & Community Outreach
    • Represent Bassett at career fairs, school events, and hiring events.
    • Build relationships with technical schools, workforce development partners, and community organizations.
    • Advance recruiting marketing initiatives and employee referral strategies that strengthen Bassett Mechanical’s talent pipeline.
  • Talent Acquisition Strategy & Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement recruiting process improvements that enhance speed, quality, consistency, and stakeholder experience.
    • Partner with HR leadership and hiring managers to anticipate workforce needs and strengthen recruiting strategies.
  • Support and maintain a safe and Lean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent recruiting experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably in a skilled trades, construction, manufacturing, or technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple requisitions from intake through offer with limited direction.
  • Advanced sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate evaluation skills across a variety of roles and levels.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting strategy, labor market dynamics, candidate assessment methods, and selection best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility with candidates, hiring managers, and community partners.
  • Proven ability to manage competing requisitions, advise hiring managers, and drive searches forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with candidates at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Experience utilizing online sourcing tools and recruiting platforms.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, EEOC guidelines, and recruitment compliance requirements.
